Ashanti Shequoiya-Douglas, also called Ashanti, was born on the 13th of October of 1980, in Glen Cove New York United States. She is an American singer-songwriter and actress. Ashanti was discovered as a teenager and eventually joined Murder Inc. Records in 2002. In the same year, she made an appearance on fat Joe's What's Luv? Two Fat Joe's What's luv? With Foolish and The What's Luv in the Top Ten and her first number one hit, she was the only female artist to be featured in two tracks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart top 10 of the United States. She was the first female artist to hold both highest two positions on the The Billboard Hot 100 list in the United States, with Foolish at number one and What's Love? We will be celebrating the birthday of her favorite actress. Ashanti Shequoiya, also called Ashanti was born on October 13 1988 in Glen Cove New York. Tina Douglas, her mother is a retired dance teacher. Ken-Kaide Douglas is her father. She is the eldest and she has a Kenashia Shia who's her older sister. Douglas named her Ashanti following Ghana's Ashanti Empire in which women were the rulers and had the power to influence. Douglas wanted Ashantis to adopt this same model. James her father was a prominent leader of civil rights who was a close friend of Martin Luther King Jr. in the 1960s. Her mother was able to discover Ashanti's talents when she heard her sing Mary J. Blige's Reminisce. Ashanti was a child actor as Spike Lee's Malcolm X and Ted Demme's Who's the Man? There were also a couple of guest appearances in music videos such as K.R.S.-Act One's MC's don't know and the 8-Off's Ghetto Girl. Ashanti was courted and signed by a variety of record labels, including Bad Boy. She also appeared in a couple of music videos. Ashanti continued to sing at New York, and spent her time in Murder Inc. studios hoping to land a major break. Ashanti first appeared in the role of background vocalist for Big Pun on the song "How We Roll". Ashanti sang as well in Fat Joe's hit song What's Luv? She also appeared in Fat Joe's What's Lov? Her sample for her debut single Foolish is from DeBarge's Stay with Me, a 1983 track. The self-titled debut album of Ashanti was made available in 2002 via Irv Gotti's Murder Inc. record label. The Declaration is the fourth Ashanti studio album. The album was made available by Murder Inc. on June 3, 2008. The 16th of October Hey Baby (After the Club) came out to the radio and online outlets. The film in which she starred was Christmas in the City and appeared as Latasha Montclair on Army Wives. Her song Rock wit U was sampled by British artist Aitch to accompany his track Baby in March 10, 2022.
